According to the Wall Street Journal, Dell will soon release a new mp3 player which will rival the well-known iPod devices.

The digital player will be Dell’s second try at selling this type of product. In 2003, Dell failed miserably when they offered several mp3 devices that allowed the buyer to purchase music from various websites. The sales did not meet expectations so the lines were dismantled.

Today is Dell’s new chance to profit off of the booming mp3 business. Dell’s new device will offer their own music download site and offer movies in which you can download to your device or PC. The device will have a small navigation screen, scroll buttons, and Wi-Fi capabilities.

The name of the new device has not been released. (Source)
