After losing to the Boston Celtics during the playoffs, the Atlanta Hawks are once again at risk for taking another L. According to the AJC, the Hawks are at risk for losing two of their key players Josh Smith and Josh Childress, who happen to be free agents. Both players have been contacted by the Philadelphia 76ers who with a more than $11 million projected salary cap are in a good position to offer one or both of them a great deal. But the Hawks say it won’t be that easy and that they intend on keeping them in Hawks uniforms. “Hawks general manager Rick Sund has said repeatedly that the team intends to match any offers made to Smith and Childress. And as recently as last week’s NBA draft he made it clear that the Hawks’ priorities were to handle this business above all else.” (Source)
