It looks like Britney Spears may be on the comeback! Despite her unfortunate performance last year, MTV has locked her in for several promo commercials for the 2008 Video Music Awards. Britney will be filming along with host Russell Brand (see in the pic above), LL Cool J, and a 9,000 pound elephant. Did we just say elephant?!?! Anyway, filming has begun and sources say Britney is looking good and is in high spirits. Although MTV has not confirmed whether Britney will be performing again this year, she is nominated for two awards, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.

The 2008 MTV Video Music Awards is scheduled to air on September 7. (Source)


On another note, Britney Spears father , Jamie Spears, was ruled as the temporary conservator of her affairs until December 31, 2008. The judge and doctors feel it is necessary to allow the father to remain control until Britney is 100% healthy. Mr. Spears has control over who sees Britney, and has hired 24 hour security at her home. He also oversees her multi-million dollar estate with another lawyer. (Source)
