After getting the boot from Def Jam in 2006 after the release of her third studio album, Christina Milian is attempting to make a comeback by way of MySpace Records. She is gearing up for a Spring 2009 debut, but her first single “Us Against the World” will be available via MySpace on October 6.

Viewing her MySpace deal as a chance for a fresh start, Milian says, “I’ve been out of the game for one and a half years, and I think I’m long overdue for a comeback, so I’m treating this album like it’s my last chance to make an impression. I’m competing with myself and being very detailed. Before, I had a label telling me what direction to go in. Now, it’s my choice, so I’m being very particular about it and I’m really excited.”

Hopefully things will work out for her this time around!

Producers for the album include Madd Scientist (Leona Lewis, Jesse McCartney), T-Pain, Cool and Dre, Jim Jonsin, Toby Gad, and Danja. So far, her album only includes a guest appearance from Kanye West.

In related news, Milian is currently filming the latest installment of the ‘Bring It On’ film series and will appear in the romantic comedy “The Ghosts of Girlfriends’ starring Matthew McConaughey which is scheduled to hit theaters in February.
