Olympic swimmer and gold medalist Cullen Jones is probably still enjoying his success at this year’s Olympics, but that hasn’t stopped him from staying focused on giving back to the Black community.

Jones is gearing up to launch his Diversity Tour, a tour that heads to major urban cities where he will try to get more Black children into the swimming pool not only for fun, but to save lives. According to studies, more than half of African-American children can’t swim and nine African-American children drown every day. The Cullen Jones Diversity Tour will include swim meets and clinics for minority youth throughout the country.

The Bank of America Hometown Hopefuls center gave Jones $10,000 to help with the tour. The cities and dates for the tour have not yet be announced.

Awww, just another reason why he should make us proud! Jones is the first African-American to hold a world record in swimming and the third to make the US Olympic Swimming team.
