The 2008 B.E.T. Hip Hop Awards weekend went underway with a very educational summit forum at Clark-Atlanta University’s student center on Friday, Oct. 17. The Hip Hop Network Summit, owned and operated by Russell Simmons and Dr. Ben Chavis, showcased celebrity panelists such as Yung Joc, V-103’s Greg Street, D. Woods of Danity Kane, Russell Simmons, DJ Toomp, Gorilla Zoe, Bryan Michael Cox, V-103’s Frank Ski, Kevin Liles, Shante’ Das, and newcomer Asher Roth.

The panelist discussed the need for our youth to learn how to manage their money. Topics included saving, real estate investing, and how to maintain a good credit score. The HHNS and Walmart gave out Get Your Money Right how-to booklets to each attendee and even had $100 Walmart student gift cards to give away.
