I guess it’s lawsuits day here on STACKS Magazine! Everywhere you turn, there seems to be information released about somebody being sued. Celebrities, in general, just can’t catch a break from making appearances in court…

First off, Travis Barker is seeking restitution for his medical expenses and loss of wages resulting from the deadly crash of their leerjet. Read our original story, here.

The lawsuit, filed by Barker and Thelma Still (mother of Barker’s bodyguard who died in the crash), alleges a “negligent attempt to abort the takeoff.” The suit continues, “The pilot’s decision was a breach of their duty owed to the passengers onboard and was a substantial factor in causing the crash and resultant injuries and deaths.”

The suit also alleges the plane was “defective,” as were component parts including the tires. The suit goes on, “It’s landing gear, tires, wheels, brakes, reverse thrust system, squat switches and component parts were not airworthy.”

Yo quiero, 50!

Now after Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson launched a $4 million lawsuit against Taco Bell, the fast food chain is striking back claiming that their letter is federally protected under the 1st Amendment.

The original letter, 50 Cent claims, violated trademark laws. The open letter asked the star to find a little loose change and make his name 79 Cent, 89 Cent or 99 Cent for one day in honor of Taco Bell’s value menu. In return, the company would send $10,000 to 50’s favorite charity.

The attorneys for Taco Bell say those claims are frivolous and that, “Jackson has used his colorful past to cultivate a public image of belligerence and arrogance and has a well-publicized track record of making threats, starting feuds and filing lawsuits.”

50’s legal team is unsure why Taco Bell would even consider him in a marketing campaign if he’s such a bad character. Good point! (Source)(Pic Source)

Can I get some “buns” with that shake?

In non-celebrity related news, McDonald’s is being sued by a man name Phillip Sherman for “bun” exposure.

The Sherman says after dining in an Arkansas Mickey D’s, he left his cell phone by mistake. The cell phone contained nude photos of his wife. Mr. Sherman claimed that later on the photos of his wife were plastered on the internet. Sherman was assured by employees at the restaurant that they’d keep the phone safe, yet the photos — along with Sherman’s phone number and address — somehow found their way onto the internet.

Because of stalkers, Sherman and his wife were forced to move out of their home. They are seeking $3 million in damages.
