On Tuesday night the Cleveland Cavaliers won their eighth game in a row with a 106-82 win over the New Jersey Nets. I am sure this was the icing on the cake for forward LeBron James who had 15 points in the first quarter….becoming the youngest NBA player to reach 11,000 career points.

At age 23, this makes him more than a year younger than Lakers guard Kobe Bryant when he reached the milestone.

James’ 31 points and the Cav’s a third-quarter surge put them in command as they improved to 9-2. The Cav’s are not only a half a game behind the NBA champion Boston Celtics, who currently have the best record in the Eastern Conference.

“It’s good that we have that killer mentality early in the season,” James told reporters.

Way to go LeBron! Now we just need a championship.
