The Golden Globes have nominated the 2008 TV adaptation of Lorraine Hansberry’s classic A Raisin in the Sun for Best Motion Picture.

ABC aired the movie to an audience of over 12 million viewers this past February. The all-star cast included Phylicia Rashad, Sanaa Lathan, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Audra McDonald, Sean Patrick Thomas and Sanaa Lathan.

Sean “Diddy” Combs, who played Walter Lee Younger, says…“I really didn’t think it could get any better,” Combs told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “First, an Emmy nomination and now a Golden Globe…this is an incredible honor. A dream come true.”

The film also received an Emmy nomination for Best Motion Picture and Phylicia Rashad earned an Emmy nod for Outstanding Lead Actress for her performance as Lena.

The 2008 Golden Globes will air January 11, 2009 at 8Pm on NBC.
