After recently being inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame , next up for the big screen biopic… Yep, you guessed it, the honorable and legendary trio, Run DMC.

According to Rapweekly.com, Notorious writer Cheo Hodari Coker has been hired to adapt Bill Adler’s Tougher Than Leather: The Rise of Run-DMC – The Authorized Biography for the big screen.

The movie will be made in the urban division of Davis Entertainment – DJ Classicz and is said to be based on the rise of Joseph ‘Rev Run’ Simmons, Darryl ‘DMC’ McDaniels and beatmaster Jason ‘Jam Master Jay’ Mizell.

DJ Classicz president Dallas Jackson tells the Hollywood Reporter, “It’s an extraordinary rags-to-riches journey that I’m eager to bring to the screen. And I’m hoping to have Run, DMC and (band manager) Russell Simmons’ involvement. This will be a big movie about the 1980s hip-hop movement that took over the world.”

Awesome, can’t wait to be able to add this one to the collection! Makes you wonder who’s biopic will we see next, right? Who’s would you like to see?
