Mary J. Blige, who by the way has 8 platinum/multi-platinum albums, 9 grammys, and 2 sold-out national tours under her belt (plus she is currently working on a new album) has been chosen to play along side recently Oscar-nominated Taraji P. Henson in the Lionsgate release “I Can Do Bad All by Myself”.

In the film, Blige will play a nightclub manager and singer who is good friends with Henson’s character. Madea, Perry’s most iconic creation, also will appear in the movie, which is shooting at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.

Due in theatres September 2009.
