When this story surfaced, first thing came to mind was WHY???  As off-the-wall as it seems, not only famous celebrities (i.e. Elvis, Michael Jackson, etc) are being chosen as the prototypes for the ultimate con, but now athletes are being targeted.  Most recently Philadelphia Eagle quarterback Vince Young has been caught up in a sick scheme involving a impersonator and sex offender.

According to The Vince Young Foundation, a young man name Stephan Pittman as been using the quarterback’s name to con women out of money. Since June of this year, Mr. Pittman has been making phone calls to women soliciting money as donations to the Vince Young Foundation.

“Most of the calls [we’ve received] have been pretty consistent in that he’s asking for money for the foundation,” Antoinette Latham, executive director of The Vince Young Foundation, told the website. “We absolutely don’t know who he is otherwise.”

In one particular case, Latham states that she received an email from a young lady demanding the return of $2500 she’d donated to the foundation. The young lady also submitted photos of the impersonator she thought was young.

The NFL Security and Prince George County Police Dept are both involved in the efforts to locate the con artist. Mr. Pittman is believed to also be using the scheme in Prince George County in Maryland.
