While he hasn’t created much of a buzz lately on the music scene, rapper Nelly is still making power moves behind the scenes. After recently teaming up with Vatterott College in his Missouri hometown, Nelly will open a new recording school at the college. The same building that once housed Nelly’s restaurant, Skybox, will now house the school’s advanced recording studio.
The program offered by the school will be designed to teach students the technical side of putting music and compilations together. Classes and seminars will also be offered to those seeking to continue their education on a non-credit, non-degree basis. The recording school has been named Ex’treme Institute by Nelly and is scheduled to open in October. Watch the video below to hear Nelly and the CEO of Vatterott College speak on the new venture.
