“We spent that summer, and the summer after, together. Everyday almost. And on the days we were together, time would glide. Most of the day I’d see him, and his smile.”

“Sleep I would often share with him. By the time I realized I was in love, it was malignant. It was hopeless. There was no escaping, no negotiating to the women I had been with, the ones I cared for and thought I was in love with.”

He added, “I don’t have any secrets I need kept anymore … I feel like a free man.”

The day the hip-hop world heard of the news that one of their own was officially “out the closet”, I couldn’t be much happier.  Finally, an artist whom I admired for some time, publicly announced (via Tumblr) that his first love was with a man.  We all have heard whispers for years of other entertainers who live double lives. But, for fear of rejection from fans (or lack of record sales), these individuals has reluctantly expressed their sexual-preferences.

Here comes along a brave young soul…Frank Ocean.  You got to respect his bravery.  You have to love the fact that he’s finally able to live free to love who he choses.  With his first album Channel Orange coming out on July 17, we don’t know what type of affect this news will translate to his record sales.  Regardless, I’m sure Frank isn’t faded about the unknown.  His talent is undoubtedly genius and I know I will continue to be a fan.

Instead of hiding out after releasing his blog, Page Six reports that Frank was out on the town with friends.  On July 4th, spotted at the Madarian Soho, its reported that he enjoyed a nice burlesque show and sounds by DJ Mos at Mister H.

Additionally, in preparation for his first project, Frank released a new tune called “Sweet Life”.  The song is an ode to a person (or love) living the “sweet life” and not even knowing it.  Check out the track below:
