Celebrities are taking their love for the game of basketball a step further.  From Usher Raymond IV to Jay-Z, several music artists has expanded their portfolios by investing in pro basketball teams. Next up, Justin Timberlake has secured his stake in the Memphis Grizzlies team.

 

An unknown source close to the current bid process, states that Justin is part of a group of investors who will join tech-billionare Robert Pera to purchase the Grizzlies.  Currently awaiting the NBA’s final decision, Pera is said to want to purchase the team from Michael Heisley for approximately $350 million.  The group consists of Timberlake, other high profile community leaders from Memphis, and strategicly placed investors nationwide.

 

The Grizzlies has been in Memphis, Tennessee for 11 years now after being moved from Vancouver.  Although fans are concerned that the new owners may decide to move the team elsewhere, the source told the Associated Press that Pera and the group are committed to keeping the hometown fans happy.
