Alicia Keys seems to be pretty busy these days with making power moves. In addition to promoting her upcoming album, she’s also gearing up for the release of her new children’s storytelling app called “The Journals of Mama Mae and Lee Lee” which details a young girl’s (Lee Lee) relationship with her grandmother (Mama Mae) while growing up in New York City.

The app gives users an interactive forum to enjoy the art of storytelling, journaling and creating music all while Lee Lee shares empowering life lessons. Key’s produced the music for the app which will be launched via Key’s company, AK Worldwide, in partnership with Bento Box Interactive.

About her new venture, Keys said, “It’s a new adventure for me, and I’m really enjoying it. It does remind me of my world. The piano, the journal, music’s such a big part of my life, the city, all of that.”

“The Journals of Mama Mae and Lee Lee” will be released Thursday, November 1st at the Apple App Store for $3.99. For more info about the app visit www.mamamae.com, twitter.com/mamamae or facebook.com/MamaMaeAndLeeLee.
