Gocha Hawkins, Owner of Gocha Salon

The world of fashion and hair collided Tuesday evening as Gocha Salon celebrated their one-year anniversary.  STACKS Magazine was on hand to congratulate the owner, Gocha Hawkins, and her team for becoming one of Atlanta’s premier hair salons in such a short amount of time.  Although, Gocha Salon has only occupied their 620 Glen Iris Drive, Ste 108 location for 12 months, their celebrity and non-celebrity clients know first hand what all the rave is about. Frankly put, Ms. Gocha knows how to do some hair. Also known as the “color extraordinaire”, Gocha has been in the hair industry for over 20 years with the awards and reputation that proves she’s one of the best.

So, in true Gocha fashion, the salon celebrated their one-year anniversary at Tags 2 BoutiqueTags is the second store for singer/songwriter/reality star/entreprenuer Kandi Burruss and her business partner Peaches. [Related Post:  Kandi and Peaches Open Tags 2 Boutique].  The event featured an awesome fashion show where models looked fierce on the pink runway draped in clothing from Tags. The hostesses for the evening were Kash Howard (model/actress/business owner) and Nikki Nicole ( host of Kandi Koated Nights online talkshow).  In addition, Gocha Salon took the time to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness month and invited a few beautiful cancer survivors to say a few words of encouragement. When asked what was the reason behind recognizing cancer survivors at the event, Gocha stated…

“We are giving a contribution for Breast Cancer Awareness month because we always keep in mind people who aren’t so fortunate. We try to donate and give services to the cause.”

Besides styling celebrities such as Royce Reed (Basketball Wives Miami), Malaysia Pargo (Basketball Wives LA), and a host of other celebs and video vixens, she is also the official stylist for the Atlanta Hawks cheerleading team. So, guests were treated to a brief performance by the cheerleaders and sounds by DJ Diamond Cutz. Comedian, Rodney Perry and philanthropist Chanita Foster was also in the building to celebrate the occasion with their friend Gocha.

Gocha Salon pulled off a great event with catered dishes and alcohol flowing. But, the fashion show isn’t the end of it!  Gocha Salon will continue their celebration this Sunday, October 21 at the salon.  So, if you are free, go check them out.  In the meantime, peep video coverage of the fashion show and pictures from the event below:
