From stand-up comedy acts, to becoming a regular on Saturday Night Live, to being one of the highest paid actors due to his work in several box office hits and not to mention his dibbling and dabbling in music, comedian/actor/writer Eddie Murphy has earned the right to be called successful. So in an effort to give him his just due and pay respect to his many successes during his 30-year career, several celebrities gathered to honor his career this past weekend. Among those that paid a special tribute to Murphy were Jamie Foxx, Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, Tracy Morgan, Arsenio Hall, Tyler Perry, Nick Nolte, Adam Sandler and Samuel L. Jackson.

The special celebration titled “Eddie Murphy: One Night Only” culminates 30 years since the release of his stand-up concert film “Delirious” and the classic film “48 Hrs.” which were both considered to be his groundbreaking performances. The event was held at the Saban Theater in Los Angeles. About the tribute, Murphy said, “I don’t get touched easily. This is a really touching, moving thing and I really appreciate it.”

Even though the event has already taken place, the rest of us will get to join in when it airs on November 14th on Spike TV at 10pm.
