In what has to be the weirdest celebrity breakups we’ve seen, 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather’s friendship status has been on idle since Floyd’s release from jail.  But losing a friendship is one thing. The other is losing a business partner.

See, before Mayweather draped himself in the county orange, him and 50 decided to partner up on a company which would promote boxing events. 50 being the business man that he his, he began securing boxers and investors while his homie sat still in jail.  50 even reportedly secured a $180 million investment from promoter Bob Arum, which was to promote the highly anticipated Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight.  But, once Mayweather was released, things between friends turned left.  Twitter instantly became the platform both men decided to air out their differences.

Fast-forward to today, 50 recently expressed to the Associated Press why he believes Mayweather backed out of the deal.

One loss, he said, and Mayweather would probably never fight again.

“It’s all confidence when it comes to Floyd and his confidence wouldn’t be there,” 50 Cent said. “He kind of hand picks who he fights instead of taking the tough fights.”

Although 50 says he still has love for Mayweather, he’s moved on with the company securing fighters and venue(s) for future fights. His current promo effort is turning Cuban Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis Gamboa into a fighting star.  In addition, 50 is now a licensed promoter in the state of Nevada and ready to make major bucks in the boxing industry.

Can’t knock his hustle!
