In preparation for the big show, MTV has announced this year’s nominations for the upcoming MTV Movie Awards.

 

At the head of this year’s class of nominations is Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” and Seth MacFarlane’s “Ted.” Both films got seven nominations a piece including Movie of the Year. “Silver Linings Playbook” and “The Dark Knight Rises” followed closely behind with six and five nods, respectively.

 

After making her way to the Oscar nominations, 9-year-old actress Quvenzhane Wallis also earned a nomination with MTV in the Best Breakthrough Performance category for her role in “Beasts of the Southern Wild.”  Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, and Denzel Washington are nominees as well.

 

The MTV Movie Awards will broadcast live on Sunday, April 14th at 9pm [EST]. You can place your vote online here.
