Despite her untimely death in May 2012, at age 63, the legendary singer Donna Summer is being recognized for her contributions to music.

The 28th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will acknowledge Summer’s musical talents and records by adding her to the list of inductees. The ceremony will be taped live on Thursday, April 18 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. However, the official broadcast of the ceremony will air on HBO on Saturday, May 18 at 9pm EST.

Donna Summer soared from national to international fame in the 1970s. She helped pioneer the dance and disco music craze with songs like “Love to Love You Baby” and “Bad Girls”. In her career span, Summer held the record of most consecutive double albums to hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts (which she still holds). Also, she was the first female artist to have four singles hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 within a 12-month period. Summer is a five-time GRAMMY award winner; first artist to receive award for Best Rock Vocal Performance in 1979.

Now, Universal Music Enterprises will release an 11-track CD with some of Summer’s greatest hits. The CD is part of their ICON series. The CD entitled “Donna Summer: ICON” will include the following tracks:

1. Hot Stuff
2. Bad Girls
3. She Works Hard For The Money
4. On The Radio
5. Love to Love You Baby
6. I Feel Love
7. MacArthur Park
8. Heaven Knows
9. Dim All The Lights

Congrats to Donna Summer on her upcoming induction. May her soul rest in peace.
