So…after releasing his fourth mixtape Gift Of Gab 2, Atlanta rapper Rocko is making it known that he has some heat when it comes to music. One of his breakout tracks from the mixtape, which is gaining much air play nowadays, is his song with Future and Rick Ross called “U.O.E.N.O”.   But, as with most things, what comes with greatness comes criticism.

The song featured a line, spit by Ross, that many believe condoned using a form of drug to promote date rape.  With so many people glorifying popping Molly’s and young girls being constantly exploited, the critics zoomed in on the song and its lyrics. This may have helped with the buzz-factor of “U.O.E.N.O” and has given Rocko the radio spins he needs. But, due to the criticism, Rocko definitely hear the streets talking and has decided to offer up one or two remixes that won’t include Ross or any more troublesome lyrics.

He recently sat down with K-Foxx and Ebro of Hot 97, in New York, and expressed his thoughts on the situation.

“Because of the type of traction that the record has as far as radio, it puts me in a position where I have to change it.

At the present moment, I have like six different verses from all types of different, talented artists, some multi-platinum. Some might have even have bigger accomplishments like Grammys and things of that nature.”

Although I am a big fan of Rocko’s, I wonder if him or his team caught wind of the lyrics prior to adding the song to the mixtape.  Hmmm…maybe it was just a slight overlook on their part. Whatever the case, I’m glad to hear that there will be remixes possibly featuring some of my other favortie artists (i.e. Kendrick Lamar and Young Jeezy).
