As the state of Georgia sees a steady decline in the unemployment rate, some existing corporations are expanding their businesses and providing additional job opportunities.

AT&T’s President Sylvia Russell and Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, for instance, announced that the multibillion dollar expansion of their national wireless and wired IP broadband networks.  This new project (referred to as “Project Velocity IP”) will create 600 new positions and fill over 1000 jobs. AT&T will fill full-time and part-time positions in the areas of network construction, maintenance, customer support, retail, and various other departments.

“Georgia businesses and consumers are using more communications services such as wireless and broadband,” said Deal. “These jobs will provide opportunities for our citizens in one of the fastest-growing parts of the Georgia economy and will help build critical communications infrastructure and provide customer support.”
