On September 4th, SL Jones will release his new mixtape, Way Of Life No Hobby. Following in a string of recent collaborative projects – SL previously worked with M16 for this year’s Trapper’s Delight and DJ Burn One for last year’s ParaphernaliaWay Of Life No Hobby is produced entirely by Metro Boomin, whose other recent work includes producing the singles “Karate Chop” and “Honest” for Future, in addition to work with Gucci Mane, Wiz Khalifa, Trinidad Jame$, and others. The tape will be hosted by Don Cannon, a reunion of sorts for the rapper and DJ, with the two having first worked together on Jones’ 2011 offering, The Number 23.

Today, Complex premieres the lead single from Way Of Life No Hobby, “Big Bank (No Ones).” “This song really set the tone for the entire project,” says Jones, noting the aggressive track and slick yet melodic flow. The song’s hook also drew inspiration from the moment: “We were at the studio, Metro making the beat on the spot, and someone asked my engineer, Seth Firkins, if he has change for $20. He responded, $20s are change!’ It sounded hella flagrant, but it was true – nobody in the session had less than a $20 bill.”

Following the release of Way Of Life No Hobby, SL Jones will head to Florida, playing shows in Tampa, Orlando, Miami, and Tallahassee alongside Will Brennan andAustin Millz. Details and flyer below.
