The very popular SoundHound mobile application will soon give Android users an extra special experience. The “sound search company” has added a new feature to the app. With the help of WhoSampled, SoundHound users will now be able to find out who sings a song, but also find out which records were sampled, remixed, and covered and by whom.

“Remixing and sampling has grown in popularity over the years in all genres of music from contemporary to urban,” said James Hom, Vice President of Products for SoundHound. “Working with WhoSampled’s data to power the ‘DNA of Music Project’ gives our fans the opportunity to delve deeper by exploring the roots of the song they have just discovered.”
