Rookie Quarterbacks, Geno Smith and EJ Manuel along with Quarterback, Terrelle Pryor exceeded expectations in week one of the 2013 NFL Season. Smith led the New York Jets to a 18-17 win over the Tampa Bay Bucs. Smith completed 24 out of 38 passes for 256 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception and led the team in rushing with 47 yards. Jets starting QB, Mark Sanchez, sat out due to a shoulder injury. After Smith’s performance, it will probably be a QB controversy in New York.

The Indianapolis Colts defeated the Oakland Raiders 21-17. Raiders QB Pryor completed 19 out of 29 passes for 217 yards with one touchdown, two interceptions and rushed 13 times for 112 yards. Pryor set the franchise record for yards rushing by a QB. This was Pryor second career start and he looked like a star QB during his time at Ohio State against the Colts.  The Raiders almost won, Pryor was sacked with 1:08 left in the game after Oakland had reached the Red Zone.

Last season four quarterbacks became stars. This year it could be these three new stars in the same position.
