Rapper/Businesswoman “Ms. Atlanta” Killed Over Argument in East Atlanta

Charlese Brooks

Charlese Brooks, also known as “Ms. Atlanta”, was pronounced dead in front of a East Atlanta restaurant on Tuesday evening.

News reports revealed that the 34-year old businesswoman and mother of 10 was shot several times after trying to play peacemaker to two women who were in a heated argument. The altercation took place in front of Brick House Restaurant on Bouldercrest Road. The women were arguing apparently over an alleged text message.  Brooks tried to break up the altercation.

One of the women left the scene to later return and began firing. Several gunshots hit Brooks. A cousin of Brooks said that she tried to resuscitate by performing CPR, but to no avail.  No others were hit.

The gunman immediately fled the scene but later turned herself in to authorities.

Terri Chimon Williams is now charged with Brook’s murder. However, her attorney W. Scott Smith says that more information will come out in court that will prove her innocence.

Family and close friends of “Beasley” (a name in which they called her) all say that she was a beautiful spirit and always willing to help others. Brooks even took on guardianship of five boys and one girl while still raising her four biological kids. Outside of the family unit, Brooks owned several businesses in Atlanta – tax preparation, truck rental, and a used car dealership.

She also was well-known on the music scene, seen around town with artists like Future and Gucci Mane. “Ms. Atlanta” also released a song featuring Gucci Mane called “Who Is Ms. Atlanta?” back in 2010/2011.
