The New York Jets defeated the Atlanta Falcons 30-28 after Kicker Nick Folk kicked a 43 yard field goal as time expired. Jets Rookie Quarterback Geno Smith had another impressive game completing 16 out of 20 passes for 199 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Jets are now 3-2 and have only been blown out in one game so far this season. Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan passed for 319 yards, 2 touchdowns, Wide Receiver Julio Jones had 8 catches and led the team in yards with 99 yards receiving. Falcons Running Back Jacquizz Rodgers led the Falcons in rushing and a career high 2 rushing touchdowns.

The Falcons are now a disappointing 1-4 and would need to win at least 10 out of the next 15 games to make the playoffs. The Falcons have the talent to win that many games, they just have to stay healthy. Tight End Tony Gonzalez had 10 catches for 97 yards and Defensive End Osi Umenyiora recorded 2 sacks against the Jets. The Jets Defensive did record two fumbles and both of those turnovers were very costly to the Falcons. The Jets future is looking brighter with Smith at Quarterback. Also, the Jets are capable of making the playoffs as long as Smith doesn’t commit many turnovers and their defense continues to be one of the best in the NFL.
