James-Blake-and-Chance-The-Rapper

Some collaborations just make sense when you hear the end result. This James Blake and Chance The Rapper joint is nothing less than dope.

The Nabil-directed video was shot in black and white and is considered simplistic in nature. But it’s the simplicity of the Brit and the American riding through a forest into the fog that makes the video compelling to watch. Let’s not forget the track itself. “Life Round Here” is one of those hip hop-inspired songs that you can listen to in any environment.

Chance The Rapper recently stated in an interview that he’s been a big fan of Blake’s for quite some time. When you got word that the two of them would be working together, he felt a bit of nervousness.

“It was kinda scary for ‘Life Round Here’ cuz it was already a song that I knew and I was like ‘I don’t wanna f— it up’,” Chance said. “It actually went through a couple of changes. We started off with more of a croon than anything and James ended up chopping that and I ended up coming up with the verses on it now a little bit later.”
