The new limited-edition “Mickey Mouse” collection is inspired by the vintage version of the iconic mouse and the 1980’s send of bold fashion statements. Jasmine Sanders, model and fashion maven, brought the collection to life for Disney and Forever 21. The Mickey & Co. collection features exuberant artwork and bold pops of color within in each accessory and clothing garment. Of the 46 pieces contained in the collection, several standout pieces includes a reversible pop-over sweatshirt, over-sized tee with rolled and tacked sleeves, screened denim jacket, and a denim on denim with a two-pocket chambry shirt. “We are excited to re-introduce this retro streetwise-style into our Forever 21 stores with Mickey Mouse, a character that has influenced pop culture worldwide,” said Betsy Zanjani, Forever 21 senior vice president of product design. “Forever 21 selected artwork from the Disney archives that allowed us to remain true to the spirit of the original Mickey & Co. label, and create a collection that exudes fun.” In conjunction with the collection, fashionista’s can enter two contests for a chance to win great prizes. Two social media contests will be held in conjunction with the launch of the collection. Beginning November 7, fans can participate in the ultimate Hidden Mickey Challenge to locate Hidden Mickey Mouse designs across Forever 21’s social platforms. Following the launch, the #ThrowBackMickey Instagram Challenge will ask fans to upload a nostalgic photo of their favorite Mickey & Co. brand memory with at least one of the characters featured in the collection. Forever 21’s Facebook fans will be able to vote for the three grand prize winners who will receive awesome Mickey-themed swag!
