The 2014 NBA All-Star Game Starters were announced and LeBron James, star player of the Miami Heat, was the leading vote getter.  James will be joined in the East front-court, by New York Knicks Star Carmelo Anthony and Indiana Pacers Paul George.  In the East back-court, Heat’s Dwyane Wade will be starting with Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving.  Heat Stars Wade and James will making their 10th All-Star appearances.

Star player Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder was the leading vote getter in the Western Conference.  Durant will be joined by Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Wolves star player Kevin Love.  In the West back-court, will be Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors.  Kobe will be making his 16th All-Star appearance, only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 19 has more All-Star appearances.  The 63rd NBA All-Star Game will be played at the New Orleans Arena on February 16th and televised on TNT.

This will be Curry, Irving, George and Love first time starting in the All-Star Game; Curry’s first appearance in the ASG.  LaMarcus Aldridge of the Portland Trail Blazers should have replaced Blake Griffin and Houston Rockets Guard James Harden will most likely replace Kobe if he can’t play due to injury.  Clippers Guard Chris Paul and Dwight Howard should be named reserves and they won’t be starting in the ASG for the first time in over five years.  None of the East starters in their frontcourt can play the Center position.

The East will have speed, while the West will have more size and power.  Heat Forward/Center Chris Bosh and Pacers Center Roy Hibbert will most likely make the East roster as reserves and give the East much needed size.  The Reserves will be announced on January 30th and the Heat will most likely have the most players represented in the ASG.  The ASG will be different without Kobe playing in it and this years game will feature the upcoming Stars of the NBA.
