KANDITODD

The ladies of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” hit an interesting spot when discussions about one another’s husbands/boyfriends came up.  If you haven’t been watching season 6, there’s been a lot of drama surrounding Kandi Burruss and her soon-to-be-husband, Todd. A lot of their plot has revolved around Todd’s career, money, and his ability to be financially compatible with the Grammy award winning songwriter/entrepreneur. The notion that Todd may be an “opportunist” initially was brought up by Kandi’s mom, Momma Joyce.  She heard of rumors floating around the city that he’s only with Kandi because of her riches and close association with industry big wigs. Todd, of course, denied this accusation.

Now, fast forward to episode 12, Todd’s name comes up again. And again…he’s been accused of being an “opportunist”.

R&B singer, Christopher Williams’s “common-law wife”, and good friend of Cynthia Bailey’s, expressed that Todd’s known to be a “hustler”.  But, Cynthia’s recount of her statement didn’t regurgitate that way when she spilled the tea on the ladies’ bus ride to a Georgia winery. In fact, the term “hustler” was never used. Cynthia repeated the word “opportunist” to describe Todd. And we all know that if you are called such, it shouldn’t be taken as a term of endearment.

Towards, the end of the episode, the common law wife tried to defend herself saying that Todd was just a guy that seems to elevate himself consistently. Whether it is through his career or a relationship, Todd knows how to “hustle” his way into a better situation. Kandi immediately took that as a jab and pointed out that “that’s OK because he has hit the jackpot now.”  LOL

Of course, there were other story lines played out on episode 12. But, for us, Kenya’s wanting to become a mother and Porsha’s house was a bit too boring to even write about.

Anyway, what is the difference between a hustler and an opportunist?  Awhile back, we posted an write-up defining what an opportunist was. If you didn’t read it, CLICK HERE.  In the article, we told readers what to do and not to do as an opportunist. The gist of it all is that an opportunist is someone that schemes his or her way to get further in life. A hustler, on the other hand, is someone that works hard, connects with the right people, and make the necessary moves in order to put themselves in a better position. Is there truly a difference between the two?

WHICH ONE DO YOU THINK TODD IS?  IS HE USING KANDI TO GET AHEAD?
