After taking over Larry King’s primetime spot in 2011, Piers Morgan will soon say goodbye to the network.

 

With ratings falling short, CNN is calling it quits to “Piers Morgan Live”.  The inability to gain traction from viewership in the 9pm time slot has caused the program to dip in ratings. Although “Piers Morgan Live” continued in the same realm as Larry King’s show, Morgan believes his British background and views on gun laws are also causes for the show’s demise.

 

“Look, I am a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarizing,” he said. “There is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it.”

 

A spokesperson for CNN says the network does not have a final “end” date as of yet. But, the network does plan to re-energize their primetime programming.
