Boosie’s release from serving 52-months was immediately celebrating by driving to Baton Rouge to pick up his kids. He is the father of 7 kids. He said they all played in the hotel all night. Pressing forward with the sit-down interview, Boosie spoke on his time served. Some key takeaways were…

  • His collaboration with C-Murder: “I got bigger business to take care of first. But, I want to help him. He’s a real dude.”
  • He wrote 1,018 songs in prison.
  • When asked if he had any conjugal visits during his five-year stint, Boosie said no. But added that he “visited” himself many times.
  • He’s been in the studio every night since being released; will release a new album once contract is reconstructed with Trill Ent and Atlantic.
  • “I got a hit for Justin Bieber.”
  • Working with the courts on his traveling stipulations.
  • He feels like he’s a better artist. He has more stories to tell. And he’s “a better person”.
  • Jeezy and Webbie held him down while he was incarcerated.
  • Webbie took Boosie’s son fishing while he was locked up. Boosie really appreciated that because he was never able to.
  • He appreciated Plies shouting him out.
  • “The rap game wide open for me to takeover. The music I’ve heard from in the past 3-4 days, it’s different from my music. Difference brings greatness.”
  • “I got a lot of stuff I’ve never performed. I’m ready to perform.”
  • “I went through a lot in prison. You’ll hear about that in the music.”
  • He was on 23 hour and 45 minute lockdown for 20 months.
  • He wrote a movie in prison. It’s called Boosie: The Movie.
