Last night (May 7), “La La’s Full Court Life” entered its fifth season on VH1. The family-oriented reality show gave viewers an inside look into the super-productive yet overwhelming life of Mrs. Carmelo Anthony. Since the previous season, La La has embarked on new business ventures. She has produced a #1 New York Best Seller called  The Love Playbook, make-up brand, Motives for La La, and a clothing line called 5th & Mercer. The on-the-go mother and wife has also found time to squeeze in several film and television projects as well (i.e. Think Like A Man Too & Baggage Claim).

So when does she find time to be a mom, cater to her man, and relax??

Well, as a devoted wife with her own career, La La has always stressed the importance of independence. She believes women can do be successful and still manage to have a great love life. In The Love Playbook, La La addresses the importance of women having their own thing going on before, during and after any relationship.

I’ve talked a lot about the need to have your own career, your own money and your own life. There’s nothing more unattractive than an insecure woman. And conversely, there is nothing more attractive to a man than a secure, independent woman. So you have to figure out how to make him feel like he’s the center of your universe while at the same time making sure that you are center of your universe and that you are living your best life. Men need to feel like the man. And you can do that. Stroke his ego. Put him on a pedestal verbally. But I’ve found that men are also intrigues when you’re doing your own thing and are confident in your life. Assess your value and cultivate your talents and skills. Being beautiful and good in bed just simply isn’t going to keep him. There are girls out there who are more beautiful and better in bed and are willing to do anything. How do you compete with that? My answer: you don’t! I decided that I was always going to be myself and put it out there, and the one who appreciates that I have to offer deserves to be with me. On this season of “Full Court Life”, La La’s world wind life will become a bit too much as she takes on sole ownership of 5th & Mercer. With her former business partner now gone, more of the companies responsibilities will be placed on her.

Will she be able to handle the new job role on top of everything else she has going on in her life?

Tune in Wednesday’s at 10PM Est on VH1 to watch La La’s life unfold.
