Born Edrikus Kywan Brown in Montgomery, AL, emerging 23 year-old hip-hop artist Halo represents the everyday man and his music reflects proverbial abstracts between good and bad and dark and light.  Halo’s sound is gritty, emotive, fun and calming; a true soundtrack of the times, touching on subject matter ranging from ambitions to relationships.  By the age of nine, Halo was took to the art by playing the drums and writing poems.

He start going by the name Halo while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was a fellow soldier that coined the name stating that his delivery made his subject matter glow, as if it was adorned with a “halo.”

Halo’s talent caught the attention of fellow label mate KG da Artist early on during friendly rap battles in Alabama. In 2013, Halo signed with Stay Focused Music Group (SFMG), which prides itself on highlighting progressive thinking (and sounding) indie hip hop artists.  The Alabama-native also heads his own label, Real Life Music.

Back in March 2014, Halo released his debut project The Refinement, which features his first single “Drive Slow” featuring KG da Artist. Once you listen to his project, you’ll see that Halo is not just your average rapper. His content is very introspective and filled with production and lyric choices that are sure to make him a contender among other hip-hop greats.
