On Sunday (June 22), the place to be was Cafe’ Circa, a chic lounge snuggled in the historical Edgewood/Auburn Avenue area of downtown Atlanta. As many were kicking back and catching vibes on the rooftop, there was a surprise performance from Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne” star and singer, Demetria McKinney (@Demetria4Real).

Demetria is currently working on full-length project. She dropped “Work It Out” a while back but most recently released a new track, which features rapper Da Brat (@Only1Brat), titled “100”.   The two performed the track on Sunday to a great crowd.  Rickey Smiley Morning Show’s own Ebony Steele (@EbonySteele) came out to support the girls as well.

STACKS Magazine was in the building to find out how the collaboration between the two came about.

This new single “100” needed a woman who had such a strong influence in music, who had a great head on their shoulders, who was still humble, who was still down and who still had the talent to really bring the song to the next level. And as soon as I heard the track, I wanted Brat on it.

Demetria went on to reveal that the single is on iTunes NOW and we can expect the official video on next Tuesday (July 1).

Demetria is a very talented woman and it’s good that the world is getting an opportunity to hear her music. In case you haven’t heard “100”, check out the audio below:

Speaking of Da Brat, she let us know that she’s hard at working on new music and TV.  Is she working on a new reality show?!!! She didn’t say. But, it may be a good thing to see the Chicago-native (and first female rapper to EVER go platinum) on our TV screens soon.

Shout out to Demetria and Da Brat for the exclusives!
