On Sunday (June 15), the Atlanta Entertainment Basketball League (AEBL) kicked-off their second year at downtown Atlanta’s Central Park. The league was established to bring ball players and Atlanta’s overwhelming entertainment scene together in the name of street ball. This year, the excitement didn’t fade as four teams battled it out with one another. Participating teams this year were Atlanta Hawks guard Lou Williams’ Uptown Soundz vs. Good Life Music label and 2 Chain’s Street Execs vs. Trinidad James’ Gold Gang.

Despite the on-again/off-again rain, the huge crowd in attendance didn’t allow a few drops spoil the fun. Not even the new hardwood flooring felt slighted once volunteers draped a protective covering over it. The hardwood was something new the AEBL incorporated this year. Unfortunately, only the players in Game 1 were able to experience the flooring due to the weather.

In Game 1, Uptown Soundz and Good Life Music battled it out. However, Good Life Music took home the win. Soon after, the rain started again and the crowd swiftly retreated to the park’s in-door court.

For Game 2, it was a rematch between Gold Gang and the Street Execs.  Last year champs, Gold Gang, continued their winning streak by ending the game at 60-55.

Sponsors for the 2nd annual AEBL games were Reebok, Kind Snacks, Land of Fly, GA Sports Physical Therapy and Streetz 94.5FM for media.
