ScoreBoard: Atlanta Dream Takes Home Victory Against LA Sparks (93-85)

Erika de Souza scored a game-high 27 points with 11 rebounds to lead the Atlanta Dream to a 93-85 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks. Sancho Lyttle had 18 points and team-high 12 rebounds for the Dream. Angel McCoughtry had 14 points to go along with 5 assists and 4 rebounds for Atlanta before fouling out with 4 minutes remaining. Shoni Schimmel came off the bench with a team high 7 assists to go with 9 points for the Dream. The Dream were almost perfect from the charity stripe making 12 out of 13 free throws (92.3%) and they scored an impressive season-high 68 points in the paint. This win puts the Dream over .500 and they improve to 4-3.

Jantel Lavender led the Sparks with a team-high 21 points and finished with 6 rebounds. Nneka Ogwumike had 19 points and team-high 12 rebounds for the Sparks. Candace Parker had an all-around game finishing with 15 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals for the Sparks. Lindsey Harding had 7 points and game-high 9 assists for the Sparks. The Sparks drop to 2-3 and have lost two games in a row. The Sparks scored 48 points in the paint and didn’t have an answer for the Sparks in the paint.

The season is still young for both teams and each team has the talent on their roster to make the playoffs this season.
