The NFL Preseason kicks off on August 3rd for the annual Hall of Fame game. The Buffalo Bills will face the New York Giants in Canton, Ohio at 8 P.M. EST. This will be a in-state game with two teams that hardly play each other in the regular season. And both teams failed to make the playoffs last season. The Bills get their first look at rookie Wide Receiver Sammy Watkins; Watkins was the number four overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Watkins will definitely help the Bills with his speed and hand. Tight End Scott Chandler led Buffalo with 53 receptions and team-high 655 yards receiving. Bills Wide Receiver Steve Johnson finished second on the team with 52 receptions and 597 yards receiving. If Watkins and second year Quarterback EJ Manuel develop great chemistry, Watkins should be able to catch 60 balls or more and help Chandler and Johnson get more single coverage from defenses.

The Giants get their first look at rookie Wide Receiver Odell Beckham who they drafted with the 12th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Giants rookie Running Back Andre Williams, who the Giants selected with their 13th in the fourth round, should be able to compete for the starting Running Back position. Andre Brown led the Giants with 492 yards rushing last season; Brown currently plays for the Houston Texans.

The Hall of Fame game has finally come and the start of the 2014 NFL season is around the corner. The Bills finished 6-10 last season and is slowly putting together a good offense. The Giants finished 7-9 and had one of the worse rushing attacks in the league, finishing 29th in league with 83.2 yards rushing a game. The starters won’t play many snaps due to it being a preseason game, but the long wait is finally over for football and the next 6 months will be unpredictable as always.
