Over the weekend, a popular self-proclaimed “Teaologist” from Twitter and Instagram, was assaulted inside Cameo Nightclub in Miami.  “Ricky Vasquez,” who’s real name is James Riquan, made the news as word got out that two NFL football players may have been involved.

As the story goes (from several sources), two well-known NFL players Mike Pouncey and his twin brother, Maurkice Pouncey hosted their annual birthday bash at Cameo Nightclub on Saturday night. At some point, an altercation ensued between Vasquez and a large gentleman. As the argument grew, a woman that was accompanying Vasquez (who’s goes by the name “Honey,” but real name is Niya Pickett) approached the altercation and tried to stop it.

According to Vasquez’s Instagram page, he was then allegedly attacked by several bouncers and the Pouncey twins. Honey also received a blow to the head by one of the attackers.

“I didn’t know that stuff like this actually f*cking happens to people,” he says in one video. “All I can remember is standing in a crowded club and this big guy keeps hitting me in my back, I look at him and I’m like, OK, he’s obviously turned up. And he just keeps hitting me. I ignore it. I keep ignoring the guy — he’s calling me a faggot. I realize that there’s two of the guys. Now they’re both in my face. The next thing I know, Honey tries to break it up. One of them punches Honey in the face, the other one punches me or the same one, I don’t know. Security comes.”

Vasquez also took to Twitter that same night to share a few details on what actually happened.

@3:43AM – “I just got jumped by 4 bouncers and the Pouncey twins at Cameo. I’m going to press charges. My face is swollen.”

@4:07AM – “This sh-t is NOT over. I’m fu–ing 5’6′ both guys play for the fu–ing NFL.”

@4:17AM – “Look at my fu–ing tooth.”

On Monday morning, the official police report was released. In it, the details revealed that the suspect was “unknown” at the time and that he was leaving the club when he pushed both victims. From there, Vasquez and Honey told the police that the suspect punched them in the head. Soon after, the suspect left the area.

The Pouncey twins are currently under investigation. No confirmation yet on whether bouncers from Cameo were indeed involved.  However, if the Pouncey twins are found guilty of assault, the Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers organizations will come under fire for this incident.  The NFL has come under scrutiny by the gay community in the past few years, only recently acknowledging the “acceptance” of players who live an alternative lifestyle. Vasquez, who is a openly gay male, insists that gay slurs were being yelled at him during the incident. This alleged incident could be categorized as a hate crime in the court of law.
