Washington Mystics Takeover No. 3 Spot In Eastern Conference

Ivory Latta had a game-high 23 points and 6 assists to help the Washington Mystics defeat the Connecticut Sun 89-75. The game was tied at 59-59 at the end of the third quarter, the Mystics outscored the Sun 30-16 in the fourth quarter. Latte had a game-high 5 three-pointers. Monique Currie had 17 points for the Mystics. Stefanie Dolson came off the bench to score 13 points for the Mystics. Emma Meesseman had 10 points, team-high 5 rebounds, 5 assists and team-high 3 steals for the Mystics. The Mystics improve to 11-13 and is currently in third place in the East.

 

Rookie Chiney Ogwumike led the Sun with 18 points and game-high 10 rebounds. Kelsey Bone and Alex Bentley each had 15 points for the Sun, Bentley had a game-high 9 assists. Katie Douglas had a disappointing game only making 3 out of 10 shots, Douglas finished with 8 points. Connecticut is 10-15 and is currently on a two game losing streak. Washington is only 0.5 games behind the Indiana Fever for second place in the East and Connecticut is two games behind the Fever for second place.
