Talk about being creative and cost-efficient at the same time…

One Florida couple ingeniously figured out a way to have their dream wedding all paid for.  Courtney McKenzie, 27, and her fiance Jamil Newell, 34, came up with the idea to use their big wedding day (and weekend) as one big marketing project.

One evening while sleeping, Courtney tells NY Daily News that she came up with the idea to have businesses sponsor their $30,000 dream wedding in Thailand. After talking it over Jamil, they both agreed that it was a great idea and decided to give it a shot.

Their wedding is scheduled to occur in December. To date, they’ve been successful.

McKenzie said they already have a handful of sponsors on board, including a hotel that will provide lodging and a company that has agreed to sponsor the wedding bands (McKenzie was clear that Newell purchased the engagement ring).

They will also pick a brand’s logo to incorporate into the groom’s tuxedo and the bride’s wedding dress.

Although some critics believe this is a tacky way about having a wedding. Courtney and Jamil beg to differ.  For business owners, it is all about branding. So, why not utilize a fun loving couple to promote your business or products.

“We are a young, fun couple who opted to have an adventure instead of a traditional wedding,” they write on their website. “We have created several sponsorship categories that incorporate your amazing company in our one-of-a-kind social wedding.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK? IS THIS COOL OR TACKY?
