A private jet service based in Miami, Florida has filed a million dollar lawsuit against Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr aka Lil Wayne and his Young Money Entertainment imprint.

Signature Group LLC claims that Young Money Entertainment owes $1,066,751.67 in missed payments, fees, and leasing charges for their Gulfstream private jet.  According to the complaint filed by Mracheck, Fitzgerald, Rose, Konopka, Thomas & Weiss, P.A. on behalf of Signature Group, Young Money Entertainment (YME) hasn’t paid a bill yet under their current lease agreement.

The complaint outlines the the dates in which the YME entourage used the aircraft in 2013 and 2014, listing domestic and international flights for the purposes of business, including a European tour, and leisure. In 2014, Signature Group claims that YME’s manager, Cortez Bryant, and under the guidance of a new business manager, began missing payments and payment of the jet’s operating expenses. Payments weren’t being made even though Lil Wayne and his management team put in requests for custom upgrades like satellite telephones, a bed, and medical equipment for Wayne.

gulfstream_g450“We provided Lil Wayne and his Young Money organization with the service they desired and expected, since 2006. We’ve mutually benefited from our longstanding working relationship and have had the pleasure of flying several artists under the Young Money Entertainment umbrella,” stated Kevin Parrott, owner of Signature Group, LLC. “This suit could have been avoided if Young Money Entertainment paid Signature Group, as promised, before the upcoming 2014 Drake vs. Lil Wayne tour.

“We have multiple text messages from his management team, to Mr. Parrott, stating that they have ‘no money’ to pay the bills currently, contrary to the earlier and repeated promises to pay,” said attorney Scott Konopka, who represents Signature Group.

After repeated attempts to contact Young Money Entertainment, in various forms, Signature Group has proceeded with the lawsuit.  They are seeking trial by jury and damages, which include interest and attorney’s fees.
