During a time of expected enjoyment, the MTV Video Music Awards weekend was disturbed by a shooting at a local nightclub.

On Saturday night, singer Chris Brown held a party at the popular night spot, 1OAK.  In attendance were many celebrities including Death Row Records co-founder, Suge Knight.  At some point in the evening, shots rang out and several people in the club were hit. One of them hit was Knight.

Reports state that Knight was immediately taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. No other victims have been identified by the Los Angeles police.

Knight’s family has released a statement on the state of Knight’s hospitalization:

“The family of Suge Knight has exclusively issued a statem”The family of Suge Knight ask that you keep Suge in your prayers and to stray away from the negativity portrayed by the media. Suge is currently resting and has lost a lot of blood, he’s human. He’s done a lot of things for the community and the culture as a whole so we ask that you respect that.”

According to the streets, Knight was invited to 1OAK by Chris Brown. Also, The Game and his crew was turned away at the door and some speculate that his crew may have played a part in the shooting. Of course, this is only speculation at this point, not facts.
