Last night (Thursday, Dec. 23), one of Atlanta’s most popular music producers, Zaytoven, hosted the premiere screening for his new film Finesse at the Landmark-Midtown Theater. Unfortunately, the celebratory occasion ended with two people shot and others wounded.

STACKS Magazine attended the movie screening along with many of the industry’s who’s who. Everyone was excited to see the film and show support to one of our very own. Finesse, which was directed and written by Al Nuke, is a hood comedy about a shady music promotions CEO/Preacher name TJ who ends up getting swindled out of his money and company (TJ Enterprises) by his own team. The theater was a packed house filled with Zaytoven and Al Nuke’s closest family and friends, hip-hop artists, industry associates, and various media outlets.

Once the film ended, everyone exited the screening room and congregated to the lobby area. About 30 minutes later, shots rang out. According to eye witness accounts, a unknown gunman let out two shots, both of which struck one guy in the leg and another in his side. A young woman was also grazed by a bullet on her left leg. Emergency ambulances transported the shooting victims to Grady Memorial Hospital. The shooting victims are listed in stable condition.

Although our team did not see the actual shooting occur, it is being reported that one of the victims is a musician.

Several spotted on-site – and some who were also participants in the film – were Rocko, Trinidad James, Young Thug, Cap 1, Jade, Shawty Lo, Corey aka Crum.com, DJ Holiday, Johnnie Cabbell, Coco Kiss, Yung Ralph, OJ Da Juiceman, and other talent seen in the film.
