Known as the most sought after diamond in the world, collectors and diamond enthusiasts will break the bank to own one of these beauties. Most are already owned by world re-known diamond sculptors and are stored under tight security. We would probably never own one, however let’s at least take a look at three blue diamonds that has a bit of history that’s quite interesting.

Although an exact imitation was used in the movie Titanic, it is one of the most recognizable blue diamond piece of jewelry in the world.  The Heart of the Ocean Diamond necklace was created by Harry Winston. It features a 15-carat blue diamond and is the most expensive piece ever worn at the Academy Awards. The necklace was worn in 1998 by actress Gloria Stuart, who played the older Rose in Titanic.

This necklace is so sought after that replicas are often sold at auction for $3.5 million.
