Burrr…Hip Hop Goes Fur Crazy During All-Star Weekend

The who’s who of hip-hop hit up the Big Apple over the weekend for the NBA All-Star game and, for some, New York Fall Fashion Week. It was definitely cold outside, but that didn’t stop celebrities from looking their fliest. To help themselves stay warm, many included a fur coat in their weekend wardrobe. Hip-hop starts like Diddy, Rick Ross, Keyshia Cole and DJ Khaled stepped out on the scene in their freshest.

Fur coats, back in the day, was a symbol of status. It still is to some degree. Depending on the fur quality and workmanship, for instance, they can cost anywhere from $1000 to over $20,000. Mink, Chinchilla, Fox, Shearlings, are just several high-end coats that are most popular. Despite PETA’s efforts to protest the killing and wear of animal fur, furs remain to be a staple piece in a closet for those with expensive taste.
