Parents Facing Child Abandonment Charges

Washington Parents Accused of Child Abandonment….

Amanda Foley and Mark Dorson, both 33 years old, are being held on a $100,000 bond after leaving their young children home alone inside a dilapidated home.

Officers were called to the Washington, Lake Stevens home after they received reports of possible child neglect. Sarah Parsley hired Dorson to fix her car for a bad transmission three weeks prior to her visiting his home. When she arrived, she wasn’t able to pick up her car, but did discover three abandoned children.

The children ranged from ages 7, 3 and an 11 month-old. They were wrapped in dirty blankets and locked in the home with trash, dirty diapers and animal feces scattered around. Police that arrived at the scene stated that there was no heat or food and the home was literally falling apart. “I had no idea that that place was that destroyed and that those kids were living like that,” Parsley said. “It’s unreal to me that someone could do that to their children.” “I may have lost my car… but in return I saved these kids,” she said
