OK let’s state the facts. “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” is one big arranged mess. From Nikko’s wife making her way to Atlanta to Jessica Dime’s last dance at King of Diamonds, there’s no authenticity on the show. “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” is more of a soap opera than a reality show. However, we all love to be entertained. Truth be told, there’s only two reasons I watch: laughter and to see who’s using this platform to expand their businesses or talents.

First off, the season premiere episode didn’t deliver laughs as expected. It was rather boring. Luckily, Mimi Faust and Rasheeda showed us that they are making boss moves.

Mimi revealed that she is an author now and will be releasing a book about her life. But, trouble ensues when her ex-boyfriend Nikko made an impromptu visit at a photo shoot. Nikko claimed that he owns 25 percent of the book. It’s good to see that Mimi is expanding her brand into other avenues. But, signing over 25 percent of your life story to Nikko was NOT the boss thing to do.

Mimi and Stevie J also reveals that they are now business partners in artist management. Their first client is St. Louis rapper, Tiffany Foxx.  She’s talented. It’s going to be interesting to see what Mimi and Stevie J does with her career.

Rasheeda and Kirk Frost are having disagreements about expanding her Poiz cosmetic line. Rasheeda wants to open up a boutique, but is unsure of how much they’ll need to make it happen. Kirk isn’t too excited about the idea because his mind is set on managing D-Lo Entertainment’s new artist, Ashley Nicole. I can already see there will be a power struggle between Rasheeda and Kirk about how to invest the money. And, the new chick Ashley is only going to add more strife to their family dynamic.

No one else on the cast had much going on in my opinion. So, “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” Season 4 episode 1 get a E for effort.

Maybe the excitement will pick back up next Monday.
